Polaris World builds desalination plant |
Spain has 900 seawater and brackish water desalinating plants. Tourism and agriculture are the sectors that benefit most from desalination. In its attempt to make the best possible use of this commodity, the real estate company Polaris World will build a desalination plant that will be used to supply its resorts with water. This desalination process will also be combined with water recycling another way of making use of hydric resources.
Mariano Sánchez, head of Polaris World Water Management explains that the successful combination of these two processes will create a water cycle system where the water that comes from the desalination plant, consumed by the population, will pass through a series of sewage treatment plants so that it can subsequently be used for watering the installations. This will lead to a high percentage of self-supply for Polaris World resorts.
